Day 1

Airport - Negombo

Arrival at Colombo International Airport where you will be met by a representative of our local agency. Transfer to your hoteland free time for lunch.
You will spend the afternoon in the former fishing village of Negombo where you can discover fishing traditions before heading back to the hotel for a relaxing evening.
Dinner and night at the 4-star Jetwing Blue Hotel (or similar).

Day 2

Negombo - Chilaw - Munriswaram - Kalpitiya

After breakfast you will head for Chilaw along the coast, passing through several fishing villages before reaching bustling Chilaw. On arrival you will visiting the interesting Munneswaram Hindu temple. You will have many opportunities to interact with the local population
Once you have settled at your hotel in Kalpitiya, you will enjoy a free afternoon. Between December and March you have the opportunity to go dolphin watching.
Dinner and night at the Bar Reef Resort (or similar).

Day 3

Kalpitiya - Wilpattu - Anuradhapura

After breakfast you will drive to Wilpattu National Park for a jeep safari. This huge wilderness park was closed for years and has just reopened. You'll be able to see wild elephants and leopards in particular.
Later you will head for Anuradhapura.
Dinner and night at the 4-star Forest Rock Garden Resort (or similar).

Day 4

Anuradhapura - Mihintale - Sigiriya - Habarana

After breakfast you will leave for the archaeological site inAnuradhapura where grows the Sri Maha Bodhi, the sacred fig tree. Anuradhapura is an iconic city of ancient Sri Lanka and one of the former capitals of the island many centuries ago. It's a place steeped in history that won't leave anyone indifferent...
You will then drive to Sigiriya to discover the renowned Lion Rock. Climb to the summit and you will enjoy gorgeous views over the surrounding valley. You can also explore the remnants of the fortress that once stood there.
Arrival at the hotel and time to get settled.
Dinner and night at the 4-star Chaaya Village Habarana Resort (or similar).

Day 5

Habarana - Dambulla - Matale - Kandy

After breakfast you will go to Dambulla to see the famous cave-temple complex. The five caves used as sanctuaries are fully adorned with Buddhist murals and the complex has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991. Today you'll also discover Sri Lankan spices while visiting a spice garden, where you will learn about the origin and uses of each spice. You will also learn how batik fabrics are made at a craftsman's workshop in Matale.
Arrival in Kandy in the afternoon. Towards the end of the day you will watch traditional Kandyan dancing and see a demonstration of fire walking. You will also attend the evening ceremony at the Temple of the Tooth.

Day 6

Pinnawala and Peradeniya

After breakfast you will drive to the elephant orphanage in Pinnawala to see the baby elephants get bottle-fed. You will also watch them have a bath in the river.
Later on you'll go for a stroll around the Peradeniya Royal Botanic Gardens, the largest of their kind in Sri Lanka and renowned for the giant Java fig tree. Many original plants grow here such as cannonball trees, Assam rubber trees and a sausage tree.
Dinner and night at the 4-star Randholee Resort (or similar).

Day 7

Kandy - Maussawa

After breakfast you will drive to theEco Lodge on the Maussawa Estate, nestled in a 20-hectare forest. This beautiful lodge happily mixes ecotourism and fair trade. Activities include walking, birdwatching and swimming in the river.
Dinner and night at the Eco Lanka Villa.

Day 8

Maussawa- Nuwara Eliya - Ella

After breakfast you will take the “tea road” towards Nuwara Eliya. On the way you will visit tea plantations and stop several times to get closer to the local population. Once in Nuwara Eliya, you can see the different processes used to manufacture tea while visiting a tea factory.
You will then hop on a train to Ella in order to make the ascent of Little Adam's Peak on your own, then have a rest at the hotel situated just opposite.

Day 9

Ella - Kuda Oya - Yala

After breakfast you will head for Kuda Oya. You can see the statue of Buduruwagala, which means “Rock Buddha”. At 15 meters, this is the tallest rock-carved Buddha statue in Sri Lanka. On reaching the Kuda Oya campground a local lunch will be served. Those who wish can learn to drive a tuk-tuk or discover the scenery on bicycle.
Then you will continue to Yala and get settled at the hotel. The rest of the afternoon is free.

Day 10

Yala - Mirissa

After breakfast you will go on safari at Yala National Park in a 4WD to see wildlife at close range. The Yala reserve is famous for being home to a wide variety of animals such as wild boars, bears, Indian buffaloes and many bird species.
You will then drive to Mirissa. Once you have settled at the hotel, the rest of the day is free.
Dinner and night at the 4-star Number One Mirissa (or similar).

Day 11

Mirissa - Galle

An excursion at sea can be arranged early in the morning to go whale watching.
You will then drive to Galle and visit the Dutch Fort. You can walk along the ramparts and admire the ocean views... Make sure you spend time strolling around Galle which has a lovely historical centre.
Arrival at the hotel and time to get settled.
Dinner and night at the 4-star Coco Bay Unawatuna (or similar).

Galle - Bentota

After breakfast you will drive to Bentota and enjoy a free day.
